How to play Switch
Switch is Crazy Eights with the gloves off. Match the top card by suit or rank, play whole sets of the same rank at once, and use the specials to wreck your opponents' plans:
- 2 — next player draws two. 2s stack: answer with your own 2 and the player after draws four.
- 7 — dump the suit: after the 7, every card you hold in that suit can follow in the same turn.
- 8 — skips the next player. 10 — reverses direction.
- Black jack — next player draws five (they stack to ten). A red jack cancels the penalty.
- Ace — playable on anything; you name the new suit. You can't finish on one.
- Black queen — swap your entire hand with the next player. Save it for when you're losing.
Can't play? Draw one card — that's your whole turn. First empty hand wins. Click a card to play it (matching cards rise so you can add them), or drag it onto the pile.
Strategy tips that actually win games
- Hold a red jack as insurance. Eating a ten-card black jack penalty loses games on the spot; the red jack turns it into nothing.
- Time the 7-dump. Five cards of one suit shed in a single turn is the biggest tempo swing in the game — don't waste it dumping two.
- Track the black queens. When your hand is huge, a black queen is a get-out-of-jail card; when it's small, dread the player before you holding one.
- Don't burn aces early. An ace always plays — it's your guaranteed out on the turn you're stuck, and a suit-switch weapon late.
- Watch opponents' counts. When the next player is down to one card, a 2, an 8 or a black jack aimed at them is worth more than any normal play.

What are the rules of Switch?

Can you finish a game of Switch on an ace?
No — if the last card in your hand is an ace you may still play it, but you must then draw a new card and keep going. Plan your endgame so a plain card, not the ace, is your final card.
What happens when two black jacks are played in Switch?
The penalties stack: the second black jack raises the penalty to ten cards for the player after it. A red jack wipes the whole penalty out — holding one is the cheapest insurance in the game.
Is Switch the same as Crazy Eights or Uno?
They're all part of the same shedding family. Switch (also called Two Four Jacks or Black Jack Switch) is the pub-rules version with far more special cards than Crazy Eights — and Uno is essentially Switch played with a purpose-made deck.
Can I play Switch offline or on my phone?
