Privacy Policy
Effective 31 August 2026 · applies to Play Cards (playcards.co)
The short version
Play Cards has no accounts and no sign-up. Your games, statistics and preferences are saved in your own browser and never sent to us. The site is funded by ads, so our advertising and analytics partners (Google) set cookies as described below — and you can opt out of personalized ads. The only personal data we ever store ourselves is what you type into the contact form.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We show ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices. For details on how Google uses data when you use partner sites like this one, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will see a consent message before any personalized ads are served, and you can decline. You can change your choice at any time via the ad privacy link shown with the ads.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which games people play and how they find the site (for example, how many visitors arrived from a search engine). Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device type. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland these cookies are only set if you consent; elsewhere they are set by default. We do not use analytics data to identify you, and we do not sell it.
What stays in your browser
Games in progress, win/loss statistics, daily-challenge streaks and preferences (like card size) are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device: we cannot see it, and clearing your browser data removes it. There is no account, so there is no profile of you on our servers.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, we store what you submit — the message, the report type, the game it concerns, the page you sent it from, your browser's user-agent string and, only if you choose to provide it, your email address — in a database hosted on Cloudflare. We use it solely to read your feedback, fix bugs and reply if you asked us to. It is never used for marketing and never shared. The form is protected against spam by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automation; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Multiplayer rooms
When you create or join a "play with friends" room, the game state for that room (the cards, seats and scores — no names or accounts) is held temporarily on our server so all players see the same game. Rooms are deleted automatically about 24 hours after the last activity. A rejoin token is stored in your own browser so you can reconnect if you close the tab.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and request metadata as needed to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks and abuse. We do not keep our own server logs of your visits.
Children
The site is a general-audience collection of classic card games. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; there are no accounts, and the only free-text input on the site is the contact form.
Your rights and choices
- Ads: opt out of personalization via Google Ads Settings or, in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, decline in the consent message.
- Cookies: your browser can block or delete cookies for this site at any time; every game still works without them.
- Saved games: clear your browser's site data for playcards.co to erase all local saves, statistics and preferences.
- Contact-form data: if you are in the EEA or UK you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold. Since the contact form is the only place we store any, write to us through it and we will delete your submissions.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Questions about privacy are welcome through the contact form.
